What is Direct to Garment (DTG) Printing?

Direct to garment printing (DTG) is a digital printing method that uses specialized inkjet technology to print designs directly onto fabric. This process involves loading a t-shirt or other garment onto a specialized printer, which then applies ink directly onto the fabric. DTG printing is typically used for small to medium-sized orders and is ideal for printing complex designs with multiple colors.

Traditional t-shirt printing, on the other hand, typically involves screen printing or heat transfer methods. Screen printing involves creating a stencil of the design and then using a squeegee to push ink through the stencil onto the fabric. Heat transfer printing involves printing the design onto transfer paper and then using heat to transfer the design onto the fabric.

DTG printing differs from traditional t-shirt printing in several ways. First, DTG printing allows for more detailed and complex designs with multiple colors. Second, DTG printing is more environmentally friendly than traditional printing methods, as it uses less ink and produces less waste. Finally, DTG printing is faster and more efficient than traditional printing methods, making it ideal for small to medium-sized orders.
